GREAT BEND CHAPTER ADVISER NEEDED
The Great Bend Chapter is needing an Order of the Arrow Chapter Adviser. Responsibilities would include attending Chapter and Lodge Meetings, Advise the Chapter Chief, oversee planning for the different ceremonies assigned to Great Bend Chapter, and be someone for the youth to go to for advice and not be one to take over a particular event or ceremony. Letting the youth learn from their choices and what they do. It is a youth run organization and so the Chapter Adviser is there for giving advice.
One may be a new Ordeal Member or another OA member if having the desire to help the Chapter and being present at different events, ceremonies, meetings and conclaves. Training will be provided. If your interested, please email me at sknuth2003@yahoo.com.
Thank you,
Steve Knuth Lodge Adviser

LEC Meeting Minutes

Troop OA Reps
Does your troop have an OA Representative? Senior Patrol Leaders - it is your duty to choose an OA member from your troop to bring news from the chapter meeting to your troop meeting. If your troop does not have one, someone will be in contact with you.
PLEASE ATTEND YOUR MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETINGS!

Chapter meetings held monthly
Our OA Lodge has always been very strong. Just look at the number of scouts and leaders wearing the lodge pocket flap. YET attendance at each district OA chapter meeting is extremely low.
Leaders
Membership in the Order of the Arrow is much more than completing a weekend ordeal and wearing a patch. Your OA members need to be active. PLEASE encourage all youth OA members to attend the monthly chapter meetings held at Roundtable. Since you or a leader from your troop should attend each roundtable, offer to pickup your scouts and bring them along.
Every troop should have a scout who serves as their Order of the Arrow Troop Representative. This is an official position for scouts, and a position patch is available. This scout is responsible for attending the monthly chapter meeting and energizing other troop OA members to attend. He serves as the coordinator of all OA information from the lodge and chapter to his troop.

2006 NOAC Article
by Steve Knuth
Arrowmen from all over the US gathered at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan for training and fellowship. This was NOAC the National Order of the Arrow Conference . This was held July 29-August 03, 2006 and Wahpekute Lodge had 10 Arrowmen there. It was a great experience that brought more meaning to me on what it means to be in the Order of the Arrow.
